At Fields of Dreams Uganda, it is our mission to provide hope, empowerment, and a future to the children of Uganda. We strive to find creative ways to keep these children in school. One of the most effective ways we’ve found to accomplish this is with our hygiene kit program. Each year, every one of the mature girls at our partner schools receives a hygiene kit that helps her manage her monthly cycles. Though simple in concept, the impact is profound.

“Without hygiene kits, I would not be able to stay in school. I would be married by now and I would have two children.” - Irene, 19

In 2024, Fields of Dreams Uganda will distribute more than 1,500 hygiene kits -- to every single one of the mature girls at our ten partner schools, to our university, secondary and vocational students in our scholarship program, and to to soccer players from across Uganda through our service matches at our national Hope Cup soccer tournament. Though a $22 hygiene kit may be small, the impact is great.
We will also be attempting to raise an additional $16,000 to help build two new changing rooms at Kaababbi Bulondo Primary School in Wakiso, and Coopil Primary School in Gulu. These projects will be tackled in the fall of 2025 if we are able to raise the funding needed for their construction.
All funds donated beyond the need for kits will assist with the ongoing programming that is empowering the girls at our partner schools to see themselves as warriors and not victims. Your generosity is helping us empower the next female leaders of their schools, families, communities and the nation of Uganda. Thank you for believing in our life-changing work and changing a life today through your generosity.

What's in the kit?

Our washable, reusable pads come from AFRIpads, a Ugandan social enterprise that creates cloth pads which are eco-friendly, cost-effective, and sustainable. All other items in our hygiene kits, including the cinch bags they come in, are sourced in Uganda, supporting the local economy. At just $22 each, these hygiene kits ensure that the girls who receive them can feel confident enough in their hygiene to remain in classes and train on the soccer field.
